I love the bright greenery that plants add inside your home. In fact, I started buying some indoor plants a couple years ago to really freshen the decor. Unfortunately, I apparently do NOT have a green thumb, and my aloe, African violet, and one other plant (I’m not sure what it’s called) had to be sent away to my sister’s “plant hospital” – which is really just under a plant light in her home. All plants have made a good recovery, and the African violet is even blooming again!
Once I have my plant babies back, I’m going to use them to hopefully add some bright, boho decor to our home. I thought I’d gather together a few fun blog posts about using plants for decor to help inspire you to do the same!
1. Use Big Plants to Brighten Your Living Room
Big plants make a big statement in living rooms! If you have a lot of natural light, you would have many great options for the types of plants you could keep in your space. See more of this living room here.
2. Place Plants in Natural Light in Sun Rooms and Enclosed Porches

3. Create an Eclectic Look with Your Plants
Even the addition of just one or two plants to your home can give it a more relaxed and exotic feeling. Check out more on this design here!
4. Try Adding Visual Interest with a Spider Plant
Decor Lasting took this beautiful image of an indoor spider plant. We had a spider plant in my house growing up as well. One great thing about the spider plant is that you can take cuttings from it and pot more plants!
5. Create a Beachy Look with Air Plants
I Do Weddings with Love created a beautiful little tablescape using beach finds and an air plant. I love air plants, and, from what I’ve heard, they are pretty easy to care for. I’m not sure where you could buy these, but if you know, tell me in the comments!
6. Care for your Plants Properly!
Now here is some advice I need to take to heart! This website gives great ideas (and beautiful pictures!) for caring for your indoor plants!
